Frequently Asked Questions

In order to be considered for an AIA playoff game, the following Criteria must be met:

• must be a certified AIA official
• Attend the First Pitch meeting, Move-up and 1 other meeting (Total of 3 meetings)
• Must attend a minimum of 1 preseason scrimmages
• Assist or participate in 1 or more field day events.
• Must obtain minimum score of 90% the NFHS softball exam

LEVEL 3 OFFICIALS

Mandatory attendance at Kick off meeting plus four additional meetings

Must attend a minimum of 2 preseason scrimmages, preferably more to be better prepared for the season

Must obtain the appropriate passing grade (70% minimum) on the exam

LEVEL 2 OFFICIALS

Mandatory attendance at the Kick Off meeting plus three additional meetings

Must attend a minimum of 2 preseason scrimmages, preferably more to be better prepared for the season

Must obtain the appropriate passing grade (80% minimum)  on the exam

CERTIFIED LEVEL 1 OFFICIALS

Mandatory attendance at the Kick off meeting and  the move up meeting plus 1 other meeting

Must attend a minimum of 2 preseason scrimmages-attendance at more is preferable to provide input and feedback for other officials

Assist or participate in 1 of the field day events

Must obtain the appropriate passing grade (90%) minimum) on the exam
